Curating the History of the Internet

Tom Woolley is Curator of New Media at the National Media Museum.

Recent curatorial projects include developing Life Online, a new set of galleries that focus on the history and social impact of the internet.

Tom spoke the about approach towards creating the museum’s Life Online gallery – on the history of the internet – and provided a sneak preview of the gallery’s content, before its launch in March 2012.

What is TEDx?

In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TED has created a program called TEDx. TEDx is a program of local, self-organised events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. Our event are called TEDxBradford, where x = independently organized TED event. At TEDxBradford events, TEDTalks video and live speakers will combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events, including ours, are self-organised.
